Bio/Research

Donna Smith is proud Lyndon State alumni who is “over the moon” about being part the faculty at a place she considers home.

A graduate of the program in 1996, Donna spent a majority of her career as a producer at the ABC affiliate WMUR–TV in Manchester, NH, where she was able to experience some of the biggest stories of her career. Those included, 2 national presidential primaries (where the focus is always on New Hampshire), several natural disasters including a major flood and a tornado, the death of Senator Ted Kennedy, and countless other stories that have given her the experience and knowledge that she now shares with students.

While at WMUR, Donna also had the opportunity to work on the multi Emmy award winning program “NH Chronicle”. She traveled the state interviewing and experiencing the people, places and things that make the Granite State unique. A 3 time Emmy nominee herself, Donna considers her work on NH Chronicle the most enjoyable of her career.

There were other stops along the way, including as an anchor in Derry, NH and a producer at WCVB in Boston, MA.

Donna’s goal in teaching students on the performance side of TV production, is to get our future anchors, reporters and video journalists comfortable with being in front of the camera and as natural as possible.
