Douglas House's current academic focus is mainly on issues related to bridging the gap between academic research on politics and socio-economic development and the practical challenges of encouraging socio-economic development through government policies and programs. He is the author of six books and more than 100 articles and reports. In addition to his academic career as a sociologist at Memorial University, Dr. House has had considerable experience in public service.
