Bio/Research

Douglas Paterson is an Associate Professor Emeritus and former director of the Landscape Architecture Program at UBC. He is also past-president of the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects, a Fellow and past chair of the CSLA College of Fellows, and a past regional director of the North America Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture. He has served on the editorial advisory boards of Landscape Architecture Magazine, the Journal of Landscape and Urban Planning, and Landscapes/Paysages. Locally, he has served as a member of the Vancouver Urban Design Panel, a member and chair of the Vancouver Planning Commission, the citizen-at-large representative on the Hasting’s Park Restoration Committee in Vancouver, and a former member of the national, Vimy Memorial Restoration Advisory Committee, in Vimy, France.
