She is cross-appointed to the Department of Gender Studies. Between 2004 and 2007, she was Associate Dean of Graduate Studies at Queen’s. The focus of her research and teaching is contemporary political theory. She has written on identity politics and on the political implications of postmodern and poststructuralist theory. The focus of her current research is the concept of property. Recent papers have considered the theoretical grounding of the link between identity and property, and the challenges facing our conventional understanding of property as a consequence of the recognition of environmental destruction.
