Elliott H. Puretz, Associate Professor, Accounting, began teaching at Merrimack College in 1974. He has experience working in public accounting for national as well as local firms. Since he began teaching at Merrimack, Professor Puretz has taught Taxation and Principles of Accounting as his primary courses, but has also taught Intermediate Accounting, Auditing, Advanced Accounting, and Corporate Finance as well.
Professor Puretz regularly consults with small businesses in the service, manufacturing, real estate and construction industries as well as for non- profits involved with low income housing, low income food service and child care services. Professor Puretz also has recent significant experience as the quality control director for a mid-size local CPA firm and has written over 100 abstracts for a financial newsletter that was distributed to thousands of investment bankers and management advisors.
