Bio/Research

Dr. Hughes began his career as a public school teacher. After twelve years of teaching special education, he went back to school at the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic, graduating summa cum laude, as valedictorian of his class. Since graduating, he has been teaching at the Chiropractic College. Dr. Hughes started teaching full-time seven years ago. He currently teaches classes in physiology, endocrinology, histology, immunology, soft tissue technique, and clinical nutrition.

Dr. Hughes' experience includes volunteer work as a triage captain at the ING New York City Marathon, treating athletes at the Central American-Caribbean Games and the Nutmeg Games, and volunteer work at a variety of Track and Field events.

His published articles include Magnesium: A Best-Kept Secret, ACA Today 2011 and Chronic Inflammation and Chronic Disease, ACA Today 2011. His post-graduate lectures have been on a miriad of topics, including soft tissue techniques, HIV/AIDS, physiology, and nutrition. Dr. Hughes was selected by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners to serve on the committee in charge of writing the national board examination in physiology.

He is a licensed chiropractor and is also certified in classical homeopathy, Graston technique, and Fascial Manipulation. He maintains a private practice in Long Island, employing various chiropractic techniques, kinesiotaping, instrument-assisted soft tissue techniques, Fascial Manipulation, nutritional and botanical supplements and homeopathy.
