Erik Girvan is an academic expert in conflict and dispute resolution, civil litigation and criminal law. At the University of Oregon, he is an associate professor of law and the faculty co-director of the Conflict and Dispute Resolution Program. Erik’s research investigates how stereotypes, attitudes, and other biases might impact decisions in the legal system. He empirically tests practical ways to reduce or eliminate implicit biases by working with a diverse variety of legal and other professionals.
