Eva Sapi, Ph.D., is an associate professor, University Research Scholar, and graduate program coordinator in the Department of Biology and Environmental Science. She has more than 20 years of experience in molecular and cell biology and specializes in Lyme disease-related research. Sapi investigates the presence of novel infections agents in deer tick with the goal of better understanding the nature of tick-borne diseases in patients. One of her latest research projects focuses on Borrelia biofilm and its connection to Lyme disease. The biofilm may allow the disease to hide and reoccur in the body.
