I have special interests in infant and child pain, perinatal comorbidity (depression, anxiety, and stress), maternal-infant interaction and child mental health. These areas of interests stem from my clinical background in mental health. My research has involved the application of systematic observation methods to strengthen theoretical understanding and to develop better measures of pain and stress regulation in fullterm infants born ill and exposed to early stressors (routine pain events) and the measurement of physiological and hormonal stress response in pregnant and postpartum women with comorbidity and their infants.
