Bio/Research

Frank Milne is a Professor of Finance at Queen's School of Business. He holds a cross appointment with the School of Business and the Department of Economics where he served as Graduate Chairman from 1993 to 1995. Prior to joining Queen's faculty in 1991, Dr. Milne taught at the University of Rochester, the Australian National University and the Australian Graduate School of Management. He has recently made short visits to the University of Chicago, Carnegie Mellon, Stanford University, London Business School, GSM at Melbourne University, Trieste University, Birmingham University, and the Institute of Advanced Studies in Vienna. Dr. Milne's current areas of research include asset and derivative pricing, the theory of the firm and management control mechanisms, non-standard preferences, and the theory and public policy issues dealing with banking and financial intermediation. He is also interested in competition between for-profit and not-for-profit organizations and the structure of different organizations as responses to sophisticated market demanders and suppliers of services, and the reactions of competitors. A highly respected researcher, Dr. Milne was awarded the 1999 Research Excellence Award by Queen's School of Business. He has papers published in many journals including Econometrica, Journal of Economic Theory, Review of Financial Studies, Review of Economic Studies, Mathematical Finance, Management Science, and the Quarterly Journal of Economics. He is also the author of Finance Theory and Asset Pricing, published by Oxford University Press in 1995. Dr. Milne has been a member of the editorial board of Mathematical Finance since 1991.
