She taught French as a Second Language and French Cinema in Europe (Institut Français du Royaume-Uni and Bikbeck College) before coming to Simon Fraser University in 2006. In her research, she examines language ideologies as related to French (acquisition of French as a second language and linguistic practices in films: foreign films translated in French; Stylised French-accented English; Stylised non-standard varieties in French films, etc.). In the Department of French, she teaches courses on the acquisition of French as a Second Language (FREN 334, FREN 416); language ideologies in the French media (FREN 452) and French cinema and society (FREN 352, FREN 852).
