Executive functioning Dr. Gail Eskes is a neuropsychologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Dalhousie University and at Capital Health. She holds cross-appointments in Neurology and Psychology and is a member of the Brain Repair Centre. Dr. Eskes research has been supported by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Canadian Institutes of Health Research and Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation. Dr. Eskes is also an active educator and strives to bring the results of research from her work and others to health professionals, students and the public through workshops, courses and lectures.
The research of Dr. Eskes is concerned with gaining a better understanding of how stroke affects cognitive abilities, such as paying attention, remembering and problem-solving. Her research is also focused on building better interventions to help someone deal with cognitive loss.
