My program of research focuses on quality of life among older adults. Specialized interests in this area include determinants of COPD-specific and non-disease-specific quality of life. I am currently embarking on research projects pertaining to active aging and its relationship to quality of life, happiness, and life satisfaction, and attitudes to aging. I also examine the psychometrics of QOL- and aging-related instruments for use with older people. Currently, I serve as a reviewer for a number of international journals including Quality of Life Research and Research in Nursing & Health, and for the International Society for Quality of Life and the Canadian Association on Gerontology.
