Gerald C. (Jerry) Kane is an Associate Professor of Information Systems and a McKiernan Distinguished Fellow at Boston College-s Carroll School of Management, where he has been researching and teaching about social media since 2006. . He is also currently serving as the Guest Editor for Social and Digital Business at MIT-Sloan Management Review, where he researches and writes regularly on the state of social media across organizations. His published research has appeared in such academic journals as MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Management Science, Organization Science, Marketing Science, Journal of Computer Mediated Communication, MIT-Sloan Management Review, and Harvard Business Review, among others.
