Gerardo Sandoval is an academic expert in immigration, urban planning and undocumented workers, especially related to the Latino/a immigrant community. At the University of Oregon, he is an assistant professor of planning, public policy and management and the co-director of the Center for Latino/a and Latin American Studies. He studies the effects of urban redevelopment on immigrant neighborhoods, specifically gentrification, displacement, infrastructure, marginal communities, low income housing, and the socio-economic implications of development in immigrant communities.
