Bio/Research

Mr. Jones is a tenured professor of Theatre who has been teaching at Santa Fe since 1989. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida with a minor in Mass Communications/Film Studies. His post graduate actor training was done at the Arena Stage in Washington D.C. where he was an acting member of the Living Stage Theatre Co. for three seasons. Mr. Jones has acted professionally since 1974 in a variety of media. He has performed both live and in industrial films for Coca Cola, Standard Brands, Cannon Mills, and General Motors. His commercial credits include Goodings Supermarkets, Toyota, and General Motors/ Pontiac. Feature film and television credits include Miami Vice, "A Flash of Green", and the recently released "Coastlines", by renowned director Victor Nunez. He has also appeared in over 40 professional productions at the Hippodrome State Theatre during the past thirty seasons. He has been the Company Director for the performance wing of the Leadership Development Institute at the University of Florida since its inception in 2004, working with such clients as the EPA, Publix, and Lockheed/Martin designing and facilitating leadership training programs at the corporate level.

Mr. Jones has directed numerous productions at Santa Fe during the past 20 years including "Judevine", "Faust; Part I", "The Doctor In Spite of Himself", and "Antigone". He has presented five world premieres at the college including the musicals "At Home With the Television", "Haunted Taxi Ride", "Really Leary" and the political puppet parable "The Faux King", which he also wrote. In the spring of 2008 he conceived and co-directed with colleague Kristin Oneal, "Aural Odyssey: The Sonarios"; an interactive multi-media dance theatre piece in which he also performed. Mr. Jones is a member in good standing of Actors Equity, the Screen Actors Guild, The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and Theatre Communications Group. His is listed in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers".
