Heather graduated from the Foothills Hospital School of Nursing diploma program in 1977, and since then have worked in many critical care areas including Emergency, Trauma Intensive Care, Coronary Intensive Care, and Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care both as a staff nurse and nurse educator. Heather was appointed to the Department of Nursing at Mount Royal College in January of 2004. She received her BN and MN from the University of Calgary, and is currently working on her PhD in Nursing. Heather completed a hermeneutic study looking at the experiences of women seeking care for their symptoms of heart disease in my Master of Nursing program. The focus of her doctoral research is the emergency care of women with cardiovascular disease. She has been the facilitator for the Woman to Woman Cardiac Support Group for the past eight years.
