Dr. Guardiola-Diaz conducts research at the intersection between chemistry and biology. Her studies have focused on the molecular biology of the nervous system including biochemistry and molecular biology of nuclear receptors; regulation of gene expression in neural cells and expression of cytochrome P450s in the nervous system. In addition, Dr. Guardiola-Diaz is interested in cytochrome P450 biodiversity and mechanism of azole inhibition of mycobacterial growth. Dr. Guardiola-Diaz joined the Trinity faculty in 1998 and since then many beginning first-year students, sophomores, juniors and seniors have engaged with these topics in the laboratory and the classroom.
