Hugh Fuller did his undergraduate training at Guy's Hospital Medical School, University of London, England, followed by Internal Medicine training at University of Toronto and McMaster University. After five years in practice as a General Internist he returned to McMaster to train in Critical Care Medicine, Clinical Epidemiology, and Research Methodology. This started a career in Academic Critical Care at McMaster University and St Joseph's Healthcare culminating in being appointed Director of the Regional Critical Care Program, and Head of Intensive Care at St Joe's. Hugh retired from Critical Care in 1999 and returned to Academic General Internal Medicine and medical administration at St Joe's.
