Bio/Research

Isabel Brodersen PA-C is the Director of Clinical Medicine of the Physician Assistant Institute at the University of Bridgeport. She has over 29 years of clinical experience in Pediatrics and Neonatology and has been an educator and preceptor for Physician Assistant students throughout the years.

Isabel received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry Pre-med from Texas Woman's University in 1978. She spent the next four years as a Medical Research Assistant in the Department of Pulmonary Diseases at the Audi Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, TX and in the Department of Cardiology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado. In 1981, Isabel entered the Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant Program at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center where she earned her Master Degree in Child Health and became certified as a Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant in 1985.

Isabel has held Academic Appointments as Adjunct Clinical Faculty at the University of Southern California, Quinnipiac University, Tufts Medical School and the University of Bridgeport Physician Assistant Programs. Isabel's passion is teaching. She has made a commitment to the role of the Physician Assistant as it pertains to the future of health care and is proud to be a part of the University of Bridgeport PA Institute.
