Bio/Research

As a historian, Dr. James Hillers career is a lengthy list of teaching accolades, memberships on various boards, and publications in assorted learned journals. One thing his considerable C.V. does not address however is his passion for the historical architecture of Britain, his native land. Having attended both Oxford and Cambridge universities for his undergraduate and doctoral degrees, Dr. Hiller is well acquainted with the dreaming spires, honey-coloured Cotswold cottages, and centuries-old cathedrals that mark the English countryside. But it was joining the Architectural Society at his boarding school at the age of 12 that first kindled his love for historic buildings. He remembers cycling around the adjacent countryside to visit various sites, including many of the locations participants will visit during the Buildings That Tell Stories adventure.
