At the University of Oregon, he is the senior associate vice president at the Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact, professor of organic, organometallic and materials chemistry, and founding director of the Oregon Nanoscience and Microtechnologies Institute (ONAMI) Safer Nanomaterials and Nanomanufacturing Initiative.
