The main focus is on understanding HIV pathogenesis and restoring the immune system of individuals infected with HIV. Current studies include the use of interleukin-7 (a cytokine), or a dendritic cell-based therapeutic vaccine, or chloroquine (a commonly used anti-malarial drug) in addition to antiretrovirals to optimaly manage HIV infection.
