Fagan’s work interests span community courts and community justice, the social contagion of violence, deterrent effects of capital punishment, the jurisprudence of adolescent crime, crime control and social effects of mass incarceration, domestic violence, drug control policy and racial profiling. As co-director of Columbia’s Center for Crime, Community and Law, Fagan helps to implement its goal: creating real-world legal strategies for tackling criminal justice problems that affect communities and families.
