I am a sociolinguist with a research focus on everyday language in use, but with an eye toward how this use relates to larger issues of identity, ideology, and globalization. My work focuses on German, English, and Dutch.
Although the bulk of my work is on German, I have also done quite a bit of research on English (taking advantage of not having to travel as far to do fieldwork!), and continue that alongside my work on German.
