Bio/Research

Jennifer L. Herbst joined the School of Law faculty in 2011 and the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine faculty in 2012. Before coming to Quinnipiac, she taught at Temple University's Beasley School of Law as an Abraham L. Freedman fellow. Earlier in her career, she worked as defense counsel for hospitals, health care providers, and pharmaceutical companies at a regional law firm in Philadelphia. She has published articles about the legal and policy framework of Medicare and Medicaid coverage of outpatient prescription drugs and the use of claims data for public health and pharmacosurveillance purposes. Professor Herbst teaches law & medicine, public health law, food & drug law, administrative law, and professional responsibility. As an advocate for increasingly interprofessional care of patients and clients, her current research focuses on how diagnostic information intersects with law, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and community.
