Dr. Murray is a behavioural neuroscientist investigating the underlying learning and neural mechanisms of the development and maintenance drug addiction, including that of nicotine, cocaine, methamphetamine, cannabinoids, and opioids. Ongoing research in her laboratory seeks to manipulate learning processes to reduce the reinforcing and rewarding value of drugs of abuse and to identify the brain basis for such plasticity of value.
