Jing Gan is a Lecturer at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University, Shanghai, China. She is a member of the China Green Building Council and Column Editor of the journal Urban Planning Forum. In recent years, her main research direction has been in ecological planning and design and green campuses. She is deeply involved in the sustainable planning and design of World Expo 2010 Shanghai and the establishment of China Green Campus Committee and International Green Campus Alliance. Her recent research projects include "Integrated Ecological Design Technologies of Urban Mega-Projects" (key research project by Ministry of Science and Technology of China, 2008-2011), "Urban Construction and Transportation Development of Shanghai Metropolitan in 2030" (Shanghai Municipal Government Consultancy Research Project, 2012-2014), and "Ecological Planning and Smart Design of Chongming island" (Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, 2009-2013).
