I have prepared expert witness reports or given testimony on journalism standards in more than 15 defamation lawsuits in Canada and the United States. I have done so at the request of both media clients and plaintiffs. My unique experience as both a front-line news executive and media critic has been accepted by courts in three jurisdictions.
As an academic, I did groundbreaking research on the lack of racial and gender diversity in newspapers and shined a critical light on the troublesome coverage that produces.
