Dr. Pliniussen is the resident expert in Innovation, Sales Management and eMarketing at Queen's School of Business where he specializes in helping organizations evaluate and enhance their performance. As Director of Queen’s Consulting, Canada’s longest-established and premier consulting program, he coaches managers and their teams how to best innovate. In his consulting engagements, John’s expertise is designing and delivering world-class training geared to boosting margins, productivity and morale.

During his career, JP has worked or consulted for Fortune 100 companies, some of Canada’s fastest growing SMEs, most Federal and Provincial Ministries, and numerous agencies and NPOs. In the media, Prior to becoming an educator, he worked in both B2B and B2C sales, MIS, and finance. Now he teaches in Queen’s top-rated Accelerated MBA and the BComm programs. He is currently creating Canada’s first Centre for Sales Excellence to be housed in a Canadian university business school.

John was Director of Strategy for cgkTechnologies Inc (www.cgkgroup.com), was a Program Director with Shad International (www.shad.ca), and until recently, was Chairman of Bayway Community Investment Corporation. John has been nominated for and received teaching and research honours, and has over 25 year's experience in business training, project management, management education, and administration.

Dr. Pliniussen earned his honours business degree from the Ivey Business School at Western, a MA in Administration from Goddard, a MPA in public management from Queen's, and his PhD in Information Systems and Strategy from the University of Bath, in England. While he worked in industry, he also attained his Certified Administrative Manager’s and his Professional Manager’s designations. He has authored and co-authored seven management textbooks, over 30 case studies, and 15 journal articles. He has invented and launched BCAP, the world's only business case analysis software, and also CasePilot - the first and only Internet-based case analysis software application in existence. John is one of a handful of Canadians to ever be awarded the Edwin-Appel Prize for Entrepreneurial Leadership from Babson College, the world's leader in entrepreneurship education. JP is currently finishing a new management reader on Innovative Sales Processes.
