Friedman, who in 1985 won a Pulitzer Prize for his international reporting for Newsday on the plight of the hungry in Africa, spent more than three decades as a print journalist. He can comment on issues ranging from New York City politics to the United Nations. In addition, he is a board member and former chairman of the Committee to Protect Journalists and a former volunteer for the Peace Corps.
