Bio/Research

Judith Eisen is an academic expert in early development of the nervous system, including interactions with host resident microbes. At the University of Oregon, she is a professor of biology and a member of the Institute of Neuroscience. She is also the Co-Founder and Co-Director of UO’s Science Literacy Program. Judith is considered a pioneer in establishing zebrafish as a model to study the nervous system. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and a 2010 recipient of a prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship.
