Julie Boatright Wilson is the Harry Kahn Senior Lecturer in Social Policy. She is the Faculty co-Chair of two Harvard Kennedy School executive programs: Performance Measurment for Effective Management of Nonprofit Organizations and Using Evidence to Improve Social Program Effectiveness. She is interested in poverty policy, family policy, and urban race relations. Among her recent projects are several case studies on the historical development of poor neighborhoods, studies on adoption from public agencies, and community-based strategies for strengthening families' capacities to parent. Wilson spent three years at the New York State Department of Social Services, where she directed the Office of Program Planning, Analysis, and Development.
