Dr. Junling (Joyce) Hu came to the University of Bridgeport in 2005 from the Missouri University of Science and Technology. Her research has been focused on solving problems that involve transport of heat, mass and momentum and thermal stresses in a wide range of applications, including manufacturing and materials processing, fuel cell design, thermal management of electronics, wellbore circulation in drilling operation, and vehicle aerodynamics. Her work on multiphysics modeling and simulation of gas metal arc welding process and laser welding process has been published in prestigious journals and conferences. She is the Director of the Applied Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Laboratory at UB. She has also established a Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and Rapid Prototyping Laboratory which enables research on reverse engineering and engineering analysis using commercial CAE tools, including CFD, finite element analysis (FEA), multibody dynamics (BMD), and optimization.
