Bio/Research

Karen E. Roehr is a book artist, graphic designer, illustrator and writer. Her special interest is in miniature books and moveable books (pop-ups). Roehr's design work ranges from unique announcements to posters; her illustration work is both ink and watercolor and monotype chine colle. Roehr has received many grants and awards including the Kimberly Colen grant from the Society of Childrenís Book Writers and Illustrators, the Mass Cultural Council and the Healy Grant. Her design work has been featured in Rockport books, print magazine and the forthcoming Ultimate Greeting Card Collection from Shenyang, China. Roehr also creates the comic strip Gymratz© for International Gymnast Magazine.
