His current research is on postmodern leadership and globalization. He is writing a book on Postmodern Management with a McKinsey consultant, it should be out in 2012. On the history side of globalization and international business, he and co-author historian David Lewis have published articles in Business History and the Management International Review on international business in the ancient world. Their latest book, "Origins of Globalization" was published by Routledge in April 2009. It has received worldwide press attention.
In 2006, Karl was a columnist in the Globe and Mail, Canada's national newspaper on leadership. More recently, he launched a weekly podcast/videocast on leadership and management in conjunction with the Globe in June 2007.
