She teaches aspects of the cultural histories of China and Japan, with some courses exploring cultural interconnections across multiple regions of the world. In her research, she seeks to understand Chinese cultural practices by studying art works in diverse media and their connections with a awide range of literature, for example, poetry, dramas, vernacular fiction, histories, and religious texts.
