Following law school, Professor Hart Wensley served as a law clerk to the Justices of the British Columbia Supreme Court. She then articled with the Victoria law firm of Horne Coupar, where she practiced for several years as an associate lawyer. The majority of her work involved family law and estate litigation. As a Senior Instructor at the UVic Faculty of Law since 2000, Hart Wensley taught Legal Research and Writing, Family Law, Civil Procedure, and Children and the Law. She was the Southern Director of the Akitsiraq Law Program in Nunavut for three years and served as Associate Dean Academic and Student Relations at the Faculty of Law from 2005 to 2009. She is currently on leave from the Faculty, following her appointment as Associate Vice-President, Faculty Relations and Academic Administration with the University of Victoria’s senior administration.
