Associate Professor Laura Greco has been a faculty member at the Fones School of Dental Hygiene since 1991 and serves as Director of Clinical Education. In addition to teaching Advanced Clinical Concepts and Local Anesthesia, she is a clinical instructor at the Fones enrichment site Norwalk Hospital Dental Clinic and mentors BS/MS degree students. Past positions include freshman clinic, clinical manager and dental radiology.
Professor Greco’s University activities include membership on various committees; NEASC Self Study, Integrative Clinic and search committees. Past activities include Co-Chair of the Health Sciences Promotion/Retention Committee and representation on the Faculty Council and Faculty Employment and Concerns Committees. Professional affiliations include membership of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, Connecticut Dental Hygienists’ Association where she currently serves as treasurer of the Bridgeport Dental Hygienists’ Association. Recent professional presentations include clinical teaching strategies and faculty team calibration topics at the Fones School’s annual Educators Workshop and CE engagements, specializing in teaching and learning styles, patient care management, advanced clinical concepts, ergonomics, professional responsibility and ethics. Ms Greco has published clinical feature articles on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Thyroid Cancer in the American Dental Hygienists’ Association publication Access. Prof. Greco developed and coordinates the Fones School of Dental Hygiene Local Anesthesia course designed for both registered dental hygienists and Fones students and is a member of the Sigma Phi Alpha-Gamma Chapter, National Dental Hygiene Honor Society.
