My general research lies in the areas of ultrafast photonics and fiber optics. More specifically, I am interested in techniques for arbitrary optical waveform generation as well as for all-optical signal processing (e.g., clock recovery, modulation format conversion, optical buffering and tunable delays, and label-swapping for packet-switched networks). I am also interested in fiber amplifiers and lasers, microwave photonics, and fiber gratings.
