Green, who studies the efficient design and management of service systems, is now researching operational efficiency and effectiveness in health care delivery systems, including access to emergency care and diagnostic imaging services. Her early work led to the development of a police patrol car allocation model that is used by many major cities in the United States as well as several other countries. She is a founder and co-director of the Columbia Alliance for Healthcare Management.
