Bio/Research

My research program focuses on health inequities resulting from socioeconomic disparities, particularly for those living in poverty situations. Given that the effects of poverty on health are determined primarily by policies and the beliefs and practices of those not living in poverty, the study populations in my research include people living in poverty, the public, professionals, and those who influence and create policies. Recent projects have focused on social exclusion among low income populations, support intervention for homeless youth, and a RCT determining effective interventions to link low-income families to community supports. My research projects involve working with multidisciplinary teams and community partners in multiple sites, using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
