I have studied the vocal behaviour of whales and have been active since 1993 in the issue of undersea noise pollution from military sonars, oceanographic projects, and the oil industry through seismic surveys, etc., and their effects on whales and other marine life. This topic has received much media attention.

I am a sessional instructor (assistant professor) and an honorary research associate in Biology.
