Lisa Abdallah, Ph.D., RN, CNE, is Chair & Associate Professor in the School of Nursing, University of Massachusetts Lowell. She is a John A. Hartford Institute Geriatric Nursing Scholar. For over 20 years Lisa has been working as a nurse educator preparing the future generation of nurse professionals. Her current teaching focus is in the nursing care of the older adult. Prior to her work in the academic setting, Lisa has been a Director of Nursing in Long Term Care, a Director of Staff Development in Long Term Care, as well as cared for hospitalized adults in the medical-surgical setting. Her areas of research focus on Health Promotion and Risk Reduction for Older Adults; Health Care Delivery Models in the Care of Older Adults; Implementing & Evaluating Creative Teaching Methodologies in Nursing Education, and Promoting Nursing as a Career Choice.
