Bio/Research

Lori Campbell has research expertise in: men's experience in filial care giving within the context of work and family; filial care giving and the marital relationship; gender and filial care giving; masculinity and men's roles in care giving; intergenerational exchange within families; inheritance and family relationships; adult sibling ties in middle and later life; marital status transitions; and permanent singlehood as a life transition. Dr. Campbell is Principal Investigator on an SSHRC-funded qualitative study that explores the experience and meaning of inheritance within families. This study examines a range of issues related to the passing on of both titled and non-titled property from the vantage point of those who are making decisions regarding their own estates as well as those who are actual or potential heirs. Dr. Campbell has published numerous peer review articles in sociology and aging journals. She has experience supervising at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
