Bio/Research

Dr. Wright joined the Faculty in July 1998. She has taught previously at Ryerson Polytechnic University, the University of Toronto and York University. She teaches in the area of child welfare and feminist theory and has a particular interest in policy and practice issues at the interface between child welfare systems and justice systems. Her most recent research is an analysis of judicial decision-making in cases involving child sexual abuse. Her ongoing research interests concern decision making about children. Dr. Wright's career as a social worker also includes many years spent as a social worker and an administrator in both young offender and adult correctional facilities.
