Bio/Research

Dr. Van Die's research interests have been primarily in nineteenth-century religion, gender, and class. She is currently working on a study of religious and homosocial networks. Her most recent publication, Religion, Family and Community in Victorian Canada: the Colbys of Carrollcroft (Montreal/Kingston: McGill-Queen's University Press 2005) examines the dynamic interaction between nineteenth-century society and a Methodist family in Stanstead, Quebec. Her other, overlapping, interest is in the area of religion and public life in Canada, about which she has organized several conferences and has edited a collection of essays.
