She joined the Department of Psychology at Guelph in 1991 and retired as University Professor Emeritus. She taught courses in the psychopathology of childhood and adolescence and intervention strategies related to various psychological problems of children and adolescents. She was the head of research at the Child and Family Studies Center and the head of the Autism Clinic at the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry. Konstantareas received her PhD from served as a professor of psychology and psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
