Dr. Funk came to the University of Bridgeport in 2004 after working in the managed care field and private practice of Chiropractic and Acupuncture over the preceding 20 years. He has taught many different academic classes in chiropractic technique, physical examination, and physiotherapy. He currently teaches 4th semester Technique, both lecture and Lab, as well as 7th semester Technique Lab. Dr. Funk serves as Clinician at the UB Outpatient Clinic where he supervises 4th year interns in the care of patients.
Dr. Funk has served on multiple college committees, including Curriculum, Planning, Admissions, Rank, Promotion and Tenure, and Objective Structure Clinical Examination (OSCE), and currently chairs the Quality Assurance Committee. Dr. Funk also serves as the on-campus U.S. Veterans Administration supervisor for the Chiropractic Residency. He has served as faculty representative to the University Council and Senate and performed professional, community, and university service throughout his career.
