Dr. Keats is a BHCRI Senior Scientist, a member of the BHCRI Training Committee and has presented at a BHCRI Seminar Series.
Dr. Melanie Keats aims to advance the scientific understanding of the interrelationships among the biological, psychological and social aspects of physical activity and cancer. Through her research program, she examines the impact of physical activity on cancer control outcomes such as prevention, coping, rehabilitation, health promotion, and survival. She and her team also investigate the behavioural determinants of physical activity and explore the effectiveness of interventions designed to promote physical activity across the cancer continuum.
